+The A-Team
Magnetic Hide a Key? Around here it's usually written MKH, short for "magnetic key-hide" or "magnetic key-holder". Quote Link to comment
+ecanderson
Long before I ever saw that abbreviation, I was using "HAK" in my cache notes (Hide-a-Key, undoubtedly still a trademark for the brand). Hadn't ever seen one that wasn't magnetic (unless we wander off into fake rocks, etc.). Especially when entering field notes into a 'paperless' device, cachers come up with all kinds of abbreviations to speed things up and avoid overrunning the available space for the note! Might be fun to run up an off-topic (is it, really?) thread to see what everyone uses for abbreviations in their field notes. 30C for a .30 caliber ammo can, GR for guard rail, etc etc. I see "FC" and "35" used interchangeably for 35mm film canisters. +acachebox
This is like learning CB language. Maybe if someone wrote a song about some cachers in a Microbus it would all make sense. Quote Link to comment
