K7CJS Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 (edited) I will be out and about but have 3 pocket queries that cover the area that I will be in. How can I "carry" the pocket queries with me then load which ever one I need at the time? I would normally load to gps at home from my computer but can only load one. Any suggestions? I have a Garmin 60cs. Edited January 27, 2015 by GVJeeper Quote
doc73 Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Might be wrong but can you have a computer with you. Have the PQ saved on the laptop then drop them on the GPS as needed? If you can not have a laptop or you need it done in the field than I do not know what else to recommend. Quote
Great Scott! Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 How many geocaches total in the 3 PQs? Could you open all 3 in Mapsource and combine them into one gpx file? If over the geocache upload limit, eliminate some of the outer area geocaches that you think you won't get to. Other choice is to have laptop to load new gpx file when needed. Quote
doc73 Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Well that's true never though of that. PQ are a max of 1000 right? So 3000 total. Can all three just be put on the GPS? I know my GPSr can sort by distance so even with the 3000 I can still find the ones local to me. Quote
Great Scott! Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 On the newer garmin units, all 3 gpx files can be loaded on the gps. But the older 60cs handled gpx files differently and has a lower geocache capacity. (I think it was 1000 waypoints) Quote
K7CJS Posted January 28, 2015 Author Posted January 28, 2015 I was hoping I wouldn't have to bring my laptop but I guess I will. Thanks for the suggestions. Quote
