+JulesDunelm Posted September 13, 2014 Share Posted September 13, 2014 Hi, I have a cache all ready to go but am waiting for my camo bag to arrive before I can place it then submit for review. I want to start my first TB off in my first cache but can't see a way to place it there (online) before the cache becomes active. There's only the option to write another note for the reviewer but that doesn't move the TB from 'in the hands of the owner' to this cache. Am worried I'll publish then some speedy cacher will get to the cache before I log the TB was ever there, which means if they take it it will transfer to them from 'in my hands'. Please tell me what easy step I'm missing, here, thank you! Quote Link to comment
+palmetto Posted September 13, 2014 Share Posted September 13, 2014 Use a "Write Note" log, and with that log, drop the trackable from your inventory, exactly as you would with any other cache. The listing is at the top of your private profile, http://www.geocaching.com/my/default.aspx Once on the cache page, the "log your visit" link is in the upper right corner. Quote Link to comment

Physically place it into the container. Once the cache is active, make the Drop log. This way, if the cache for some reason is not activated, there's less paperwork. Add a some info on your cache page like "There's a TB in this cache, so please allow me a couple of days to log the TB before you do", in case of speedy cachers . If your TB isn't activated yet, and you are speedier than the cachers, you could wait to activate it until exactly when the cache is online.
