bowhuntr1978
So in a little over a week my family and I will be going camping in Cooks forest. We plan on going to some of the local sight seeing locations such as the fire tower. My kids have had some fun in helping me find some which also gives us something to do as a family when we go on vacations. What are some of the geocaches located near fire tower, deer meadows camp ground, or that general area? Thanks in advance! Quote Link to comment
+Walts Hunting
You might get a response if someone from there sees this post but a better way would be to upgrade to premium, run a pq of the area, drop it into a map program i.e. Mapsource, Streets and Trips, BaseCamp, Google, etc and look for your self to plan your venture. +cerberus1
State parks in PA took a big hit when they started charging for cache placement (maybe Cooks is different...). Maybe a mod can send this to the NE regional forums for help there. In the meantime, you can contact the park. They'd have records of hides and I believe they may have some out with one of the enviro specialists. A simple online search brought up one. Quote Link to comment
Pup Patrol
So in a little over a week my family and I will be going camping in Cooks forest. We plan on going to some of the local sight seeing locations such as the fire tower. My kids have had some fun in helping me find some which also gives us something to do as a family when we go on vacations. What are some of the geocaches located near fire tower, deer meadows camp ground, or that general area? Thanks in advance! i had no idea what area in the world you were asking about until I read cerberus1's post. So, what I did was do a Google search for "deer meadows campground Pennsylvania", clicked on their "contact us" link, highlighted and copied their postal code, went to the Hide & Seek" page http://www.geocaching.com/seek/ , plunked the postal code in, chose Pennsyvania as the state and hit "search". Here's the results.... http://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest.aspx?lat=41.33738&lng=-79.1888&dist=62.5 Is that of any help? You certainly don't need to be a Premium Member to search for caches. PQ's are interesting for some folks, but I've never used them. I look for caches by going to the map of the area I'm interested in, and picking choosing individual caches. B.
