What can I do if I found a Travel Bug?

Hi everybody,

I found my third cache today and inside there was a travel bug. I just took the number but can I take it simply and move it in another hiding place/cache?

Yes, and you can log it:

You have a couple of options. If you want to move the trackable to another cache, log a "retrieve" and take it with you. When you reach a suitable cache where you'd like to leave it, place the trackable in that cache and log a "Drop".

 

If you'd rather not move it, you can log a "Discovered" and just leave it where it is.

Since all you did was write down the number, you should log a 'Discovered It'.

 

If you find another one in a cache in the future, feel free to take it with you.

When you do that, be sure to log that you 'Retrieved it'.

 

Then later you can put it in another cache, and when you log your cache visit, at the bottom of the screen the trackable will be listed, and you should choose 'Dropped off'.

 

Proper logging of trackables is good to know, it helps keep the game running smoothly!

if you enter the number in the log a travel bug page it will bring up that travel bugs home page and you can read the owners wishes for that bug
