Did Anyone Notice GLONASS Outage?

Recommended Posts

Some GPSr units that are hybrid GPS/GLONASS didn't fare well when the GLONASS system started sending corrupted data due to (they say) bad ephemerides data being sent to all of their satellites over a period of time.

The problem existed in the time frame of about beginning ~2100 April 1 UTC until ~0800 April 2 UTC. Anyone out there with a GLONASS capable unit have any comment on performance during that period?

Well, that must be the answer! My Oregon 600, with GLONASS enabled, was doing some real acrobatics during the aforementioned time period. These included loss of signal (with a clear, blue sky), and position changing miles in mere seconds. My display would blank out, then return in a totally different area! And I just thought it was the last update going bonkers.
