I was under the impression that she would get favorite points for all her finds as well as be able to hide a lab cache. She logged in and her account doesn't show any favorite points. Does anyone know how gift upgrades work? I wouldn't have upgraded her if she wouldn't get favorites and the lab cache. Quote Link to comment

Is her account showing as "Premium Member"? Here's the scoop on Favorites: http://support.Groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=287 Here's two bits of information from that article: Who can earn Favorite Points? Only Premium Members earn Favorite Points. They get one point just for being a Premium Member, then further points by logging geocaching finds, at the rate of 1 Favorite Point per 10 finds. If I purchase a Premium Membership later, will I be awarded Favorite Points for the geocaches I found when I was a Basic Member? Yes - for first-time subscriptions! If you upgrade to Premium Membership we will add up your past geocaching finds and award Favorite Points accordingly. From there you can visit the geocache pages you found while still a Basic Member and "spend" the Favorite Points on the best ones. However, if your subscription lapses for any reason, you will not be granted Favorite Points until you renew your Premium Membership. At which time the Favorite Points will start accruing again. I don't think the system makes a distinction of whether is was a gift or not. PM is PM. If things don't change in the next day or so, then you might want to contact Groundspeak. The place to look for Favorites is on her profile here: http://www.geocaching.com/my/default.aspx under the stat bar. On my profile, it says: 13 Favorite points remaining Logs Until Next Favorite Point: 7 Total Favorite Points: 38 Manage Favorites How is this calculated? B. Quote Link to comment
+Hanes69 Posted March 3, 2014 Share Posted March 3, 2014 Hello, I have the same question - I gave Premium Membership to one of my frinds and she still did not receive FPs for founds she did as Basic Member. Her account is already marked PM, she can use all PM functionalities, she already logged caches as PM but no Favorite point for BM founds after more that two weeks from PM upgrade. Premium member (purchaser) is not subscribing for the first time even though the designated member has not been a premium member before. Quote Link to comment

Hello, I sent an email to Groundspeak yesterday and this morning I got an answer that FPs were added to my fiend's account.
