Can I get a listing of my "Did Not Find" caches?

We have failed to find many caches, sometimes because the cache in question is missing, others because we just failed to find it.

We would like to be able to read follow up logs to see if we were incompetent, the cache in question has been replaced or no viable feedback has been posted.

Is there a way to get a listing of caches that we have flagged as "Did Not Find"?

Not just a watch list. I would think a bookmark list called DNF would be helpful (I have one such list).

Caches I haven't found in a separate list.

I can quickly see if they've been archived or disabled by looking at the bookmark list

I can run a pocket query specifically on caches with DNFs (if I add them).

I can remove the cache later if I later find it.

Come to think of it, I think that would be a GREAT premium member opt-in perk with a couple configuration clicks. We already have Ignore lists and Favorite lists that do special items and are accessed in special ways.

I would suggest that premium members to could opt-in for a special bookmark list called "DNF".

Configuration options:

  • Participate or not (default not)
  • Append most recent DNF to text of bookmark (as option, and it could accumulate all of the multiple dates in the text - or just the most recent)
  • Option to remove the cache from the list (or not) if you later find the cache
  • Option to automatically remove cache from the DNF list when the cache is archived
  • Public or Private Option (standard with bookmarks)
  • Notification Options (standard with bookmarks)
  • Create Pocket Query from list (standard with bookmarks)

An interesting idea...

What I do is go into Geocaches from the first menu dropdown. Once in there at the top of your recent cache activity there are a series of options, found, not found, attended, all logs.. etc.

If you click on didn't find, you will get a list of your DNFs all the back to the beginning of time I believe.

Same as you, I go back later and see if it was just me, or if the cache was actually missing by looking at it's future logs.
