This is the second time I've submitted a waymark for this category, and the second time that it is 2 months later with no action on the waymark.

Same here. I sent an email to offer help to the leader, no reaction yet. And I noticed that this category does not have a single officer, who is premium member anymore.

 

I never thought about this before, but you need to be premium member to become an officer, so I always assumed you have to be one to be an officer. This seems not to be the case. Still, do they have, technically, the possibilities to manage this category as basic members at all?

I sent a polite message to the only "active" officer with a copy back to me. We'll see what happens. Last time it ended up with a forum exchange that he hadn't received an email; so perhaps the registered address is no longer used.

I re-read the other thread about absent officers. I'm not in a really big hurry, and I can go the whole 6 month route that was explained there; but it all seems so tedious. When should I email checkmark about this category?

I wrote caverspencer and he is aware of the situation. Perhaps he is too busy at the moment.

If your Waymarks are waiting longer than 10 days you can contact Checkmark with the please to publish them.

Ok. I thought that contacting checkmark was way down on the list before doing other things. Anyway, it's good that the leader is "aware" of this; but it is still puzzling as to why "aware" doesn't prevent a waymark from sitting around for 2 months. (The submit 2 months ago should have made someone "aware".)

Well, I submitted the waymark on 21 June, sent an email to the only active officer on 25 August, and I finally got the approval on Labor Day, 2 September.

 

Although it never had to go to Checkmark, this sure isn't the best way of doing business. Apparently submissions to this category are only reviewed on holidays...

I have eternal problems with this category, which is a shame as it's one of my favorite subjects. It really beats me why people don't admit operational officers willing to keep things running smoothly.
