+SniperD Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 So, I went out caching today and noticed my fone app had been updated. Nothing new there, afterall this happens on a fairly regular basis, however this time the app automatically closes once I pull up a map or a compass. Has anyone else experienced this today or is there a problem with my mobile. I have a Samsung Galaxy Ace. Thanks Quote
+Yorkshire Yellow Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 I use the phone app infrequently, as I normally cache on a pre-planned with my Oregon, so have little experience of the new version. I have, however had a few forced closes on it , including one whilst submitting a log from the field (although that may have been down to the website problems around that time). I'm using an HTC Sensation. Quote
+Seaglass Pirates Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 I've had it happen on the iphone version a few times. With an iphone you have an app ready to run in the background. It chews your battery along with any apps. To stop that happening you double press the function button. At the bottom of the screen all the loaded and ready to go apps appear. Hold your finger on one of them and they all get a cross next to them. And you can delete each app. This is not the same as deleting the app permanently. This is a tab at the bottom of the screen showing all active apps. You can remove all of them if you like, even calls and texts. it will still work but it means its not sapping battery life. You would be amazed whats running. Anyway I just did this to remove the app from active use. turned the phone on and off and rebooted the app. Didnt work the first time so I left it for a minute and it was fine afterwards. I also had it where when using the map as the locator and watching the blue pip get closer to the cache, the whole map would flicker and jump. You could barely read the map. Turns out I needed the latest version and had to update the app. Quote
