n0x0n
Hi all, I'm a longtime GSAK user but migrating away from windows. I know I can use wine to run GSAK, but I don't really need a full-blown cache database... What I'm looking for is some kind of tool, preferably commandline, that I call with the PQ.zip-file as a parameter, that sends the waypoints to my Legend HCx. I'm not against a GUI program and will consider all recommendations. Regards n0x0n Quote Link to comment
Mineral2
you can just use the unzip command. It would look something like this: unzip pathtozipfile -d pathtogpsvolume/Garmin/gpx/ you can also just unzip it in a folder window and drag it over to the gps drive. Quote Link to comment
n0x0n
Do even the old etrex have this mass storage mode? I have only seen that on the new Oregon my dad has... Just googled, really seems I missed out on that, OMG! Any idea how I could tune the icons in the GPX files to match the GC.com icons I uploaded as custom icons to my GPS? Quote Link to comment
MartyBartfast
If it doesn't do mass storage mode, plug it into the USB and use gpsbabel (which is what GSAK uses under the hood to communicate with the GPSs) something like gpsbabel -i gpx -f somefile.gpx -o garmin -F usb: Quote Link to comment
n0x0n
Ahh, that seems like the stuff I was looking for, will try it on Wednesday, today I'm away for work (and - of course - caching). Quote Link to comment
