Team Chamberlin
A friend and I are interested in doing a little traveling. We live in Baltimore and would like to take a day/weekend trip to find the coolest cache site in the east. Any suggestions? Quote Link to comment
Captain Chaoss
The "fellowship of the Ring" (GC386C) multi-cache in Erie, Pa (zip code 16501) is talked about alot. The best bet would be to look at state maps, and find the highest concentration of caches. That way, your bound to find some to your liking. Two roads diverged in the woods and I, I took the one less traveled, and that is how I found the cache. Quote Link to comment
+briansnat
It all depends on what you mean by coolest. Some people love swamp caches and think they're really cool, while others despise them. Other people love mountain top caches, while others avoid them. NJ has quite a concentration of caches and a lot of really good ones. One of your local geocachers, Outsid4ever, drove up from MD one morning to bag the famed Ny/NJ Multi State Multi Cache along with a group of NJ geocachers. Then he drove all the way home the same day. Talk about dedication! "It has been my experience that folks who have no vices have very few virtues" -Abraham Lincoln Quote Link to comment
+TAT
Literaly speaking, thisthis is probably the coolest at any givin time. A bit of a drive for a week end, but there must be 10,000 cache bon the way! Quote Link to comment
Maine Mountainman
Tat's right, that's about the coolest you can get around here. I went on the 4th of July, and it must have been 100F. The caves felt like about 60. I didn't see any ice,but it was real cool. Maine MountainMan Quote Link to comment
+The Leprechauns
Check out the "Greatest Caches of the Northeast" thread, found (strangely enough) in the Northeast forum. You can't go wrong with any of the caches mentioned over there, and a quick drive to New Jersey or Pennsylvania can put you in an entirely different habitat than the Baltimore area. Have fun and good hunting. x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x Some mornings, it just doesn't pay to chew through the leather straps. - Emo Phillips Quote Link to comment
