I'm just curious why it takes so long for the geocaching.com website to update and show my current logs. I can understand a little time but some times it is 48 hours before it is updated. Am I the only one that is having this issue?

When I write a log on a cache page, it shows immediately. You say: "I can understand a little time but some times it is 48 hours before it is updated." What is the "it" you are talking about.

What page or listing are you looking at?

I bet 20 Quatloos that you are using a smart phone for logging your finds? Could be you don't have a connection, or are using a field note instead?

 

If you log them on the computer, the show up immediately.

It's not about smartphones.

 

And field notes don't become logs after a period of time.

 

Yes, please describe what "it" is you're referring to... how are you posting your log for the cache? Are you using a field note? Are you using the website?

 

Are you looking at your profile statistics? Because that seems to me where the lag might be. The stats aren't always updated in real time. Your find log is immediate - if you post it as a find log, and it's listed on the target cache page, then it's saved and in your profile. But because stats generation takes lots of server calculation, gc.com won't necessarily show you the updated stats immediately. Don't fret, if your log is there, it's safe; give the stats page a bit of leeway

The IT is my stats. My logs show up automatically whether I log on the computer or iphone.

"Logs showing up" and "stats showing up" are two very different things. Try pressing the update button to regenerate your stats on demand.

I have tried that and the stats still don't update for up to 48 hours.

You need to go to the "Statistics" link in the Quick View list, NOT the Statistics tab under "Your Public Profile."

 

In the Quick View list Statistics, there is a button that says "Update My Statistics Now" which you can press to get instant updates to your stats.

 

If you're not seeing that button, then you're looking at the wrong Statistics page.
