NadJim
Hi, I currently use my HTC One X for geocaching and it works extremely well. I like the ability to turn up anywhere and download local caches right to my phone. Also to be able to take them offline when out of network coverage. The only issue i have is battery life and accuracy under tree cover. I was thinking of getting a separate bluetooth GPS receiver, does anyone have any experience or advise using this setup? I want a receiver that will give me the same or better accuracy than a dedicated GPSr. Thanks. Quote Link to comment
BCNorwich
Hi, Globalsat BT 338, 20-channel high-sensitivity SiRFStarIII GPS receiver; WAAS-enabled; Bluetooth; up to 12 hours battery life. I've used one with an HP Ipaq for several years and had no trouble Regards Bernard Quote Link to comment
Driddy
I have been using a Garmin Glo which utilizes both the US and Glonass (Russian) satellites and I find that it gets me to gz at least as well as my Garmin Oregon 450, even under heavy tree cover and in narrow stream valleys. I am surprised that external BT receivers are not more popular. Quote Link to comment
eccentric_
Garmin GLO it works great. People complain about the power button being easily pressed when it's in a pack or pocket, but we haven't had any problems with it Quote Link to comment
BobCarlo
Quote Link to comment
