foxtrot_xray Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 While getting the database ready for the new GE tools, I've come across a few amusing little 'errors'. Most noticable would be AG7407, which apparently had a recovery in .. an impossible month: AG7407 HISTORY - Date Condition Report By AG7407 HISTORY - 1982 MONUMENTED FLDNR AG7407 HISTORY - 19980112 POOR USPSQD AG7407 HISTORY - 20030709 MARK NOT FOUND USPSQD AG7407 HISTORY - 20092709 GOOD FLDEP (In case your eyes scan over it, the 27th month? ) -Mike. I read that recovery as the 27th of September in 2009. John Quote
kayakbird Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 Just looked at the shape files for a few of my recoveries in Park Co, Montana. Looks like the convention there is YYYYMMDD. I learned a long time ago that it is hard to typo 15Feb2013. 20090411 GOOD GEOCAC QX0095 20090411 MARK NOT FOUND GEOCAC QX0091 20090411 GOOD GEOCAC QX0558 20090412 GOOD GEOCAC QX0622 20090422 GOOD GEOCAC QX0142 20090618 MARK NOT FOUND GEOCAC QX0157 20090618 MARK NOT FOUND GEOCAC RW0090 I learned a long time ago that it is hard to typo 15Feb2013. Mike, will your new program recognize UNK as a date? MEL Quote
foxtrot_xray Posted February 19, 2013 Author Posted February 19, 2013 Mike, will your new program recognize UNK as a date? MEL It didn't, until I found that date. For the 'monumented' date, the program will pick the next recognizable date. This happens more often than know, as 'UNK' is often used for old, ol stations for First Observed/Monumented descritions. For other bad recovery dates, the date will be the first of the year, *or* the next day after the previous recovery. And, a lot of my work on updating the Google Earth database had me working on NGSGPX v3. Yeah, I'm still working on it, slowly. --Me. Quote
