+coinpopper
My wife and I will be cruising in mid-late 2013 and visiting numerous cities. I have seen city maps offered by Garmin for some of the places but not all. Hoping someone has a source for the following cities. Of course, I would love to cache the entire area but when one must be on board the ship, time in port is limited. We will be visiting: Copenhagen,Denmark; Warnemunde,Germany; Tallin,Estonia; St. Petersburg,Russia; Helsinki,Finland; Stockholm and Helsingborg,Sweden; Bergen and Alesund and Oslo, Norway; Lerwick,Shetland Islands; Torshaun,Faroe Islands; and Reykjavik,Iceland. This is our 51st Anniversdary cruise and we plan to enjoy the sights, at least those in these cities and often near the cruise ship ports hence the need mostly for city maps. Caching is not a primary function on this trip, but I hope to find several caches in each city. The balance of the time we will spend learning about these beautiful countries. I cache with a Garmin GPSmap60CSx amnd the Oregan 300 which generally use the identical map sets. Any help will be appreciated and as well, hint for caches near the ports and/or the city sights and landmarks. Cache on, Coinpopper Texas, USA Quote Link to comment
+caro_GP
Hello, Texas! You can buy from Garmin an Europe´s map, maybe you will need Nordic countries only or whole Europe, it´s up to you. (https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?cID=253&fKeys=FILTER_REGION_EUROPE&ra=true) And then I know there is OpenStreetMap, maybe you`ll find something useful from there too. We used it in Malta and we were happy with it. (http://www.openstreetmap.org/) and (https://help.openstreetmap.org/questions/4592/basic-guide-to-download-osm-to-garmin-gps) About Tallinn`s caches. The usual ones, that cruise tourists are searching for are: Invasion of the Geocoin Designers http://coord.info/GC3T538 Old Thomas / Vana Toomas http://coord.info/GC1YN9H Friderici http://coord.info/GCRV5D TTC # 5 - In your face! http://coord.info/GC16MQF TTC # 3 - Relax - take it easy http://coord.info/GC16MPR Rotermanni http://coord.info/GC1AQ5J Admiral 3 http://coord.info/GCRV4D I hope this helps you and welcome to Tallinn and Estonia! +mamoreb
Free maps for Norway/Oslo, based on OSM, can be downloaded here: http://www.frikart.no/garmin/velgkart.html I use these maps in the Oslo area, they seem just as good as any paid map. Welcome to Oslo! Quote Link to comment

+coinpopper
Thank you so much for yor reply. Sorry I didn't respond sooner. I had already selected two of the caches you suggested as I was trying to locate the cruise docks. Guess I guessed close. Are you fron Tallinn? Perhaps we can meet when we come through. Again, Thanks and I will check into the maps. Trying to get a good defination of the Garmin N. Europe map set. Cache on. Coinpopper Quote Link to comment

The OSM (Open Street Map) is much much better and updated quite often at no cost. I'll try to remember how I load the maps into my Oregon.
