Simple enough really, to look about near your home coordinates. Well, that is -- after you put your home coordinates into your profile page. Click the [search] magnifying glass on the home page of geocaching.com. That would be a good start.

Reading all of this would help, too: http://support.Groundspeak.com/index.php . Be sure and click every link, 'cuz it takes you to more info.

EDIT: Oh yeah, log out and back in (or refresh your browser) after entering and saving your home coordinates on your profile page.

Just signed up and would like basic instructions on how to go to the site and start to look up caches here in Portland. Just bought a GPS and want to see how to manually record as well as with the GPS once I download the software. Just like to study the location page this weekend to get started.

Before I figured out that I should enter my home coordinates, I just did it by putting in my zip code. Entering your zip code, or your address, in the appropriate box will get you caches in your area.

Under "Play" click on "Hide & Seek a Cache."
