+Belles Boys
We were out caching today and GPS was acting crazy, we thought we were in the right area for a cache and let experience take over finding a cache in a typical place... got home to log it and we didn't find the one we were looking for but there isn't a cache listed where we were... anyone know how to access an archived list to figure out what we found??? Was there a GC code on or in it? That would be the easiest way to figure out which cache it is. Were there any other signatures in the log? You could look up the profiles of some of those people to see what caches they logged on the day they signed that log, which could narrow down the possibilities. If there weren't any other signatures, it's probably a cache that was rejected for publication and the owner never came back to pick it up. There's also the possibility that it's the final of a multi or puzzle. Those wouldn't show on the map in that location, but rather somewhere else. Oh so many possibilities... Quote Link to comment
AZcachemeister
Are you SURE it wasn't a letterbox??? Only reviewers and admins can see archived caches in an area, but they still need to know where to start looking! Do you have the approximate co-ordinates? You could also look at caches found by one of the 'old guard' in your area (old-timey cachers that have probably found all the caches in your area) and check for archived caches in their found list. +T.D.M.22
Always the possibility it is a cache from another site. I know, I know, "no-one" uses any other sight, but it does still happen somehow. Or maybe it's a cache that wasn't published anywhere. My town put out 3 caches, and only put the co-ords on some tourist maps. Quote Link to comment
