+duckson
Looking on Amazon there appears to be a new model of the Etrex 20 & 30, is this right and if so what is the difference between the old and new models? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Garmin-eTrex-Outdoor-Handheld-Unit/dp/B00542NVS2/ref=pd_sim_sbs_sg_1 You can see it says there is a newer model available. +duckson
Maybe just trying to justify the higher price tag they are asking? Is £180 ish the going rate for the Etrex 30? Quote Link to comment

+duckson
Seeing as firmware update 2.80 seems to have sorted the sticky issue I might go for one! Quote Link to comment
+user13371
Amazon.com US doesn't show a newer model. I these are just different vendor listings on Amazon.co.uk, one published a bit later than the other. Maybe different packaging but not a different GPS. ASIN: B00542NVS2, Date first available at Amazon.co.uk: 11 Aug 2011 ASIN: B00628A34W, Date first available at Amazon.co.uk: 19 Oct 2011 Edited July 22, 2012 by user13371 Quote Link to comment
+duckson
Can someone just clarify that using the 20 or 30 and wanting to pick which Geocache you want to look for next you can pick a particular cache from the map or do you have to pick it from the "nearest first" cache listing only? Reason i ask is that i might not necessarily want to find the nearest cache next! Quote Link to comment

Don't get excited. It's a marketing ploy by the retailer. Quote Link to comment

+Redwoods Mtn Biker
FWIW, I expect that the next Garmin series to be updated will be the Oregon and/or Montana. Quote Link to comment
