Good Swag for a Cache

Someone that I know, wants to start their own cache.

 

I was curious what YOU all thought is cool to find in a cache? I might be making a little list so other fellow cachers can always keep in mind what good swag is.

 

So what do YOU like to find? What are good items for a cache?

A few spare pens...... maybe a set of fresh batteries.....insect wipes

 

Kid friendly items.....

 

I seldom take / trade swag......

 

travelers are a different story........

Couple of ideas;

 

Whistles

Kid friendly toys

Carbiner clips

Pathtags

Compass

Foreign coins

Cache tool kit related (mirror, pens, tweezers, etc)

Souvenirs from another state/country

I think some caches I come across are just full of nasty, old, crappy items like wrappers, and old sponges.

 

I want to make sure that when placing, taking, or trading swag, I at least put something in others can enjoy!

As a general rule of thumb (mine anyway) if there's a chance I would have thought the item was pretty cool at any time of my life, it's probably interesting to someone else. If it never would have been, it just might be that it really is junk.

I usually just things like mini highlighters, bouncy balls and stationary in.

A clean, dry log book.

 

A cache that is maintained by its owner, and is regularly cleaned up, with the garbage that invariably ends up in it removed.

When trying to flog some of my old ones, I found a only get a buck or two for used CDs. Maybe put some of those in there, if you have an ammo box (to keep weather out and has room.)
