+TeamPennyFinder
I see that the Oregon 450 says it shares wirelessly with other Oregon and Colorado units. My question is can it send to another unit the entire gpx file (like for combined caches of about 3,000 caches) at once? Or do you have to send the info singly cache by cache? Thank You Quote Link to comment
eaparks
I think you can only send a single waypoint, or track, or route, or geocache at a time. Quote Link to comment
+TeamPennyFinder
Thanks for the answer. Not the one I was hoping for. LOL! Quote Link to comment
+eusty
It does work as I have sent from my 450 to the Colorado. But as has been mentioned you can only do one at a time....which isn't such a bad thing as it's pretty slow Quote Link to comment
+TeamPennyFinder
Well, I guess if I ever am able to scrape the money up for an Oregon 550 what I will just do is put the same PQ's on it as I do the 450. I was just curious in case I met any other geocachers out in the "wild". Quote Link to comment
+Walts Hunting
Why would you take two GPS's out. If you get the 550 sell the 450 for a few bucks to help pay for the upgrade. Also I think it only transmits basic info. Not hints, description, etc. Quote Link to comment

+TeamPennyFinder
Walts Hunting, The reasoning behind two units is because TeamPennyFinder is a team. My grand daughter is part of the team and she would like to do more than look once we arrive at GZ. She is bonkers for geocaching and wants to use a GPS like my current one (the 450) with the map and the whole nine yards. I am looking at the Oregon 550 because it also has a camera function, that would let me not have to carry a camera when we go and is also one less thing to plug into the PC to get pictures off of. That would be easiest for me. Then she would be able to use the 450 when we have her. BUT, it may turn out to be a pipe dream as the 550 is so very expensive. I may have to just back off and settle for a Magellon GC (for her to use) or something like that. But she wants the electronic compass. She is mature for her age but still does not grasp that grandpa and grandma does not have a money tree growing in the back yard. **sigh** Quote Link to comment
+Walts Hunting
Thanks for clearing that up. Interestingly enough when I sense from my Montana to my buddies Colorado he only gets the basic data. Quote Link to comment
