TheRoadWife
I would love to get my hands on some GPS units and play with them before buying one. I don't need to buy it from the store that has it (since I probably can find cheaper online)...but whats a good store that would have the most common GPS units (62s, Montana, Oregon, etc). Thanks in advance! Quote Link to comment
Chief301
I've found Cabela's has a pretty good in-store selection...I've had the opportunity to handle various models there. The salespeople generally try to be helpful but are not always real knowledgeable about GPS, particularly as it pertains to Geocaching. Quote Link to comment
unabowler
I got my Magellan eXplorist GC at Best Buy, it's in stock at some locations. On their website they show other geocaching units but I don't think any others are in their stores. Quote Link to comment
bbsmalls
I just got a Garmin Forerunner 405, which is a running watch/gps, and I plan to see how well it works with GC =) Quote Link to comment
DsrtMtnRox
I went to REI. They have a good number of GPS units to look at and play with. Even better than that.....If you choose a GPS and buy it from them, get home and try it out for a while and figure out it isn't the best fit for you, YOU CAN RETURN IT FOR A FULL REFUND! If it breaks...FULL REFUND! I first got a Magellan but just wasn't happy with it. Took it back, no questions asked, got my money back and chose one that suited me better. You might not get the deal you can find it for online but REI's return policy is the best. They also usually have someone on staff that knows a lot about GPS units too. So most likely you can get most of your questions answered. Quote Link to comment
