Having problems with the forums ...

Recommended Posts

I'm having all kinds of problems in the last couple days with the forums ... going from one string to another ... and I can't pinpoint what trips it ... but all the bulbs go white. Also I get error messages (in English and Spanish) sometimes telling me that the forum is down ... going backwards and then forward ... it comes back. Am I going crazy or has anyone else had similiar experiences? icon_confused.gif

Thanks ... I was begining to worry ... here's the English part of the error message:

Thank you for your understanding.

If you go to the thread I posted above, Michael from Infopop is working on it and has left an email address. It may help to drop him a line with your error messages. I just posted and sent him mine.

That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it. icon_smile.gif

Now I've found a trend ... if I click on a link ... say someone's profile ... that action turns all the bulbs white ... even those that were yellow.

All the bulbs are going white for me too but clicking on links isn't what's causing it here. Just going from topic to topic is enough.

I've had that happen as well ... but not as consistently as popping a link.

Well so far this morning ... no "White Screens of Death" .. but just got the "White Light Bulbs of Death" by clicking on the "Geocaching.com Discussion" forum.

Hawk-eye, the gremlins must have moved on to better pickins 'cuz I've been plagued with them all morning. Just about every other time I click to a thread I get the white screen of death!!! It's definitely annoying. Guess it's going to be a while before the bugs are finally worked out of the new forums. icon_confused.gif

I get this error occasionally, but I finally figured out that it happens if I try to submit a reply to topic at the same time or just after somone else has. That's the only time I have received that message.

Food for thought.

rdw, try clicking on the Groudnspeak Forums link at the "cookie crumb" list of where you are at the moment and see if it happens again. I get it all the time when I try to click that link to return to the top of the forums or when I click the Groundspeak logo at the top left.

I just got this one when I hit the "back" button on my web browser:

I just got 42 white screens of death ... including four to try and post this message. It seems this forum is improving ... in the wrong direction! icon_eek.gif

I was logged on to geocaching.com. This is part of the message I received while trying to logon to the forums.

What's up with this? I'll forward the entire message to Infopop. Sure hope this is resolved shortly.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it. icon_smile.gif
