+briansnat Posted October 14, 2002 Posted October 14, 2002 Me too. Same thing on Saturday morning. Couldn't get on for several hours. First logons were rejected, then the site came back as unknown. "Life is a daring adventure, or it is nothing" - Helen Keller
+Cachier Posted October 14, 2002 Posted October 14, 2002 I wasn't able to get it to open either this morning. I was having withdrawl. "When you find it, its always in the last place you look."
+infosponge Posted October 14, 2002 Posted October 14, 2002 Everything hosted at Killerlink.net seemed to be down.
+Centaur Posted October 14, 2002 Posted October 14, 2002 Aye, i tried 2 different ISP/Routes in and everything was hosed at a gateway/border someplace in Everet WA. Mayhaps someone's line got hit with a backhoe or a router popped a fuse. Dont know. Just glad its back.
Elias Posted October 14, 2002 Posted October 14, 2002 Our firewall has developed some kind of hardware problem which is causing it to crash every couple of days. I'm working with the vendor and hopefully we'll have this resolved soon. -Elias

It was a "the requested domain: geocaching.com does not exist" problem. - - - - - Wisconsin Geocaching Association

It was a "the requested domain: geocaching.com does not exist" problem. Actually, I believe it was. Our DNS servers sit inside our firewall, so if your name server didn't have a cached copy of the DNS data, or had expired the DNS data, it had no way to obtain it to perform a lookup. Looks like the site was down for about 6 or 7 hours this morning between 1 AM and 8 AM Pacific time. -Elias
