Oregon 450 and mapsource question

I have a Oregon 450, I can send maps, tracks and waypoints to the unit from mapsource but when I try and send info from the unit back to mapsource it will send the tracks but not waypoints it says "the selected device has no waypoints on it" Any tips on how to fix this issue. I am running firmware 5.00.

The newer models are no longer fully compatible with the now discontinued Mapsource. However you can still manually grab the "userdata.gpx" file from the /Garmin/Gpx/ folder and open it manually in mapsource. You will also see the waypoints saved in their own gpx file based on the date they were saved in that same folder, example:" Waypoints_25-NOV-11.gpx" would contain any created today, and mapsource will open them if you point it in the right direction.

Just curious, what replaced mapsource? I didn't even know it was discontinued.
