+Bob and Kath
We're looking at upgrading the maps in our Garmin 275T. But, we can get Lifetime maps on some of the new gps units for slightly more cost than downloading lifetime maps for our current Garmin Nuvi 275T. Question: can caches be downloaded and can cache coordinates be entered manually to all current auto GPS models? Quote Link to comment

Question: can caches be downloaded and can cache coordinates be entered manually to all current auto GPS models? Using an Auto GPS for Geocaching is so friggin' 2009. You have to have a smartphone now. There is a GSAK macro for downloading cache data to Garmin Auto GPS's. I'm not too familiar with it, as I have a Tom Tom on the road, but I'll bet it's good for just about every model Garmin makes. I'm sure someone will come along and help you out. In the meantime, GSAK stands for Geocaching Swiss Army Knife, and their website is here Quote Link to comment

+briansnat
Caches can be downloaded to most automotive units and they can be manually entered into many, but it doesn't make them a good choice for geocaching. You can also play tennis with a baseball bat and hammer nails with the heel of a shoe. Quote Link to comment
+phlatlander
Well, I am able to use GSAK and and my Nuvi 1350 does a very credible job of paperless geocaching. Matter of fact, except for the rather limiting battery life, it does a better job of urban geocaching than my older Legend. Lest someone jump up, caps ready, the Nuvi can display geocache info in larger print and as I am quite comfortable with Lat/Long navigating, I do not need a heading or distance.
