The Amigos
I am planning on activating a few of my coins, to send them out as travelers, but I can't get a good picture with my camera or phone. Is there a website that has pictures of the minted coins, and is there a way for me to copy those pictures to my coin's page? Quote Link to comment

Jackalgirl
There are lots of coin pictures everywhere. I'd like to say that there is one central place for coin listings, but there isn't. Some good sources, though, are: cointracking.com Trackable Geocoins Wiki (forthferalz set this up on Wet Paint and it has links to geocoin pages that have good pics) What I usually end up doing is just using Google and searching the images. That's just for finding pictures. As for using pictures, that's a whole 'nother ball of wax. If you find a picture on, say, geocaching.com of the same coin and it's a nice picture, here's what to do: 1) Send a message to the cacher who owns the coin and ask for permission to use the picture in your writeup. 2) Provided that you get permission, right-click (or option-click, for a Mac) on the image and "Save image as..." to store it on your hard drive. 3) Add them to your coin's picture gallery. That's the easiest way. If you know HTML and put a check-box in the coin page's HTML option, you can insert a direct link to the image in the coin's description: <img src="insert source here" alt="My spiffy geocoin or other alternate text"> To find the source, right-click on the original image and select "open image in new tab" (or "new window" if you don't have a tab-using browser). Copy the URL into the HTML for the tag in place of "insert source here". Make sure that you get permission before you download someone's picture, and ESPECIALLY before you do a direct link. In the case of coin pictures hosted on servers other than geocaching.com, doing a direct link (also called "hot-linking") puts an additional burden on the server where the original image is, and many people have to pay extra for the extra use of server resources. So it's extremely impolite to hot-link, and add that burden, without asking whether it's okay. I hope this helps! Quote Link to comment
The Amigos
Several of the coins are the monthly Geocoin Club coins, and I can't seem to find names or pictures of them. Any idea on these? Quote Link to comment
Jackalgirl
You could try the gallery at Geocoinclub.com, or if you're on Facebook, the Geocoinclub Facebook profile. Or you could send 'em an email or get in touch with The Moop Along (Pete) if all else fails. They're cool guys and I'm sure they'd help you out. Quote Link to comment

Jackalgirl
Google's probably your best bet. Which coins are you looking to find? Quote Link to comment
The Amigos
One looks like a chess board, and the other looks like crop circles. I want to make a ring of coins, that can be added to by other cachers, that the finder can discover all the coins when he/she finds the TB! Quote Link to comment

Jackalgirl
For the chess one, you might be talking about the August 2011 Club coin. I'm willing to bet that if you write Geoswag and explain what you're doing, they'd be happy to help you out. : ) Quote Link to comment
