Seleas
I'm new to Geocaching. I've found my first cache, and failed to find 2 others so far. But I only was looking in locations I personally know, as I don't have a GPS I am able to use, besides a driving Tomtom. Does anyone know of a relatively inexpensive GPS I could use with general accuracy and reliability? Also, anyone in the area around Orlando, Florida want to meet up and maybe help me learn some of the finer points on a cache or two? Love it already, even though I'm slightly dirt-phobic. The sense of discovery over-rides the phobia somewhat. Quote Link to comment

+HotDiggityDogs
Don't forget to look on Craigslist and eBay for a used one... people sometimes upgrade after caching for awhile, and you can get some great deals. We love our Garmin GPSMap 60CSx, except for not having paperless caching. Quote Link to comment

+NanCycle
I'm new to Geocaching. . . . The sense of discovery over-rides the phobia somewhat. To meet other geocachers, look for an event than you can attend in your area. You will find that many cachers (not all of course--there are grouches in every part of society) will be happy to talk with you and maybe even take you along on a caching outing. It's open to anyone who is willing to pay a $3 meetup fee. This is a Valdosta Geocaching Society meeting and will be a great time! Quote Link to comment

+TomToad
There is a Central Florida group with a page on Facebook. Just search for CFLAG. Quote Link to comment
