+JL_HSTRE Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 Yesterday I found a drawbridge that had 6 benchmarks: 3 Army Corps Of Engineers and 3 FL DOT (2 of them old enough to be stamped SRD instead of DOT). 5 of the 6 were in the NGS database. This is a single span 4 lane draw bridge that is not very long; I have found fewer benchmarks on longer multi-span bridges. This got me curious: what is the most number of benchmarks on a single "object" like a bridge, dam, jetty, building, etc? I'm guessing it would be something big like the Hoover Dam... Quote

+secondgunman Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 Looks like 42 on the White House... WOW! As in the meaning of life? I'm quite certain the meaning life is NOT to be found in the White House. And, as a dolphin, what are you still doing here? Quote
+LSUFan Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 Looks like 42 on the White House... That is extremely interesting. Is there an online source that shows them? All I knew about was the Zero Milestone, located near the White House. Quote

+LSUFan Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 http://benchmarks.scaredycatfilms.com/DC.html Use hybrid view. Thanks. I saw a bunch on the Capitol, but just a few close to the White House, using Scaredycats viewer. I figured that they must be marks not necessarily listed in the NGS database. Quote
jbuffethed Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 That's what I figured too. I am taking a road trip up to DC after I get back from my deployment. Never been there, so it would be fun getting some marks as well as caches. Quote
