+zulu113
Started geocaching in earnest a few months ago, really enjoying myself so far. I particularly enjoy puzzle caches. I solved one today that has the rest of the locals stumped, and I've gotten a few emails from people asking for a hint. What's the right thing to do here? I don't want to ruin it for the CO by giving anything away, but I want to be friendly too. Advice? thanks, Zulu Quote Link to comment
+Panther&Pine
Suggest they contact the CO for a hint. You can also ask the CO what they'd like you to do. Congrats on solving a difficult puzzle. Quote Link to comment

+zodiac73
They have asked you for help, I don't see the problem. If you post a spoiler on the cache listing that people who don't want help with solving it might see then yeah don't do that. If asked, I would give some help. Quote Link to comment
+niraD
I've been asked a few times for hints on puzzle caches that I've solved, or on the one that I own. I start by asking what the person has tried so far, and (for others' puzzle caches) what information the cache owner has offered them. I tend to be more liberal with hints for my own puzzle cache than I am with hints for others' puzzle caches, but either way, I try to nudge them towards information that is already available, rather than giving them new information.
