+BrixingtonPaddler
I have an idea for a cache, or a series of caches to be placed nearby. But instead of the cache being at the coords given, but at somewhere very close by, and a series of clues, steps or hints are given to its actual location The actual location will only be about 20-30 ft away from the posted cache, but a description of, Cache is 10 paces away on bearing 235 degrees etc.. Would that be classed as a puzzle, multi, or could it go in as a traditional? Many thanks Quote Link to comment
savant9
Not a traditional. A puzzle, Multi, or a letterbox hybrid. Quote Link to comment
+BrixingtonPaddler
Oh lovely, wasnt subtle enough i guess This was a plan to make some caches that brought back ideas from the letterboxing days. Cant really be a letterbox hybrid without the stamp and inkpad.. will stick with the multi i think Quote Link to comment

Would that be classed as a puzzle, multi, or could it go in as a traditional? Many thanks It would not be a "traditional". It would be either a Multicache or a Mystery or Puzzle cache: http://www.geocaching.com/about/cache_types.aspx Traditional Cache This is the original geocache type consisting of, at minimum, a container and a log book or logsheet. Larger containers generally include items for trade. “Nano” or “micro” caches are tiny containers that only hold a logsheet. The coordinates listed on the traditional cache page provide the geocache’s exact location. Multi-Cache (Offset Cache) A Multi-Cache ("multiple") involves two or more locations. The final location is a physical container. There are many variations, but most Multi-Caches have a hint to find the second cache, and the second cache has a hint to the third, and so on. An offset cache (where you go to a location and get hints to the actual cache) is considered a Multi-Cache. Quote Link to comment

+Isonzo Karst
This is a classic off-set multi-cache. Coords for start point, and off-set: bearing, distance. A request that you clarify on the cache page what you mean by "pace". A pace is not a step, it's a pair of steps. Real normal steps, not big "pirate movie" steps ;-)... thanks Quote Link to comment
