+mpilchfamily
You don't need any software. When you do a search for caches check the boxes next to each one on the page. Then at the bottom of the page click on Download Waypoints. This will give you a .loc file with all the selected caches. Able to hold up to the full 20 listed per page. Connect your unit to the Mac and drop the .loc file in the GPX folder on the unit. Quote Link to comment
gcerullo
If you own a Mac and a Garmin GPS you can find Garmin's Mac software on the following page. http://www8.garmin.com/macosx/ You should get: BaseCamp (also available from the Mac App Store if you are running a current version of Mac OS 10.6 Snow Leopard. This software will allow you to manage the data on your GPS like Waypoints, including Geocaches, Tracks and Routes etc., and to move them to and from your GPS device.) Garmin web site link: http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=4449 Mac App Store Link: http://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/garmin-basecamp/id411052274?mt=12 MapInstall (this may be included with the BaseCamp install if you download BaseCamp directly from Garmin using the link above. Allows you to install addition maps on to your GPS device.) http://www8.garmin.com/support/collection.jsp?product=999-99999-06 WebUpdater (use this to update the firmware on you GPS device.) http://www8.garmin.com/support/agree.jsp?id=3699 Communicator Plug-in (allows your GPS to communicate with Garmin's web site through your web browser, create a myGarmin account to see what I mean.) http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=3739 Edited July 15, 2011 by gcerullo Quote Link to comment
+Bear and Ragged
To get the full benefit of an Oregon 550, you should get Premium Membership. Run a PQ (or several!) Unzip/unstuff the PQ, and place- drag and drop- the two .gpx files in to the Garmin folder. Coordinates, cache info, hint, abbility to filter caches on the unit... What more do you need? Edit to add: You are a PM. Log out of the forums, then log back in. It will change the 'Member' to 'Premium Member' Edited July 15, 2011 by Bear and Ragged Quote Link to comment
