+Dave's Piglings
we've borrowed a garmin geko 201 from friends and I've been trying to connect it to the pc to download geocache points automatically we've got the serial to usb lead, but no software disc or drivers. The friends don't currently use this unit but were pretty sure they didn't have any software for it, I've googled but can't find anything online I have downloaded the garmin webupdater tool, but it can't see the geko which is plugged in via usb (computer recgonised something was plugged in, but couldn't find driver), switched on and set to garmin on the interface menu and I get a 'no devices found' error message. can anyone tell me how I can get the geko to be recognised by my pc? (running xp service pack 3) thanks very much for any help Quote Link to comment
+CacheFreakTim
I have heard tons of problems with getting those to work. You do need drivers for it and even with them many still cannot get them to work. For mine I purchased a cable from eBay with the serial to USB conversion done in the cable and it works great. The one I purchased you can find here. Quote Link to comment
