+Gepellom
Hi A quick question... As a cache owner, if you delete someone's log (because they're new to the game and they've posted a picture of the cache, giving it away completely,) does it delete a score from their total? I don't want to delete their score but I do want to delete their photo! Thanks. Geraldine. Edited June 4, 2011 by gepellom Quote Link to comment
+Bear and Ragged
Delete it! And send an email to explain why it was deleted, and ask them to re-log without the spoiler. Or. If it's not a big spoiler, just email and ask them to delete the picture. They can remove just one picture, as the cache owner you have to delete all of their log. (Yes, their count will go down one, but will go up one when they re-log!) Edited June 4, 2011 by Bear and Ragged Quote Link to comment
+mpilchfamily
Deleting the log deletes there find. If you don't want them to post a spoiler then email them about it and ask them to edit there log. If they don't then go ahead and delete it if you wish. Often a log deletion causes more problems then it solves. Quote Link to comment
+Gepellom
That answers it. Thank you very much. I deleted it and have emailed them with my reasoning. (grovel, grovel). It was a stump that I'd milled out inside - the woman was holding the stump up showing the cut in the middle! They'd only done 14. Thank you!!! Quote Link to comment

I don't think you should have deleted their photo or log, if you were going to tell us here in the forums EXACTLY what to look for. Quote Link to comment

yoshi2093
If my log was deleted because of a spoiler comment/photo all I would do is re-log the cache without any spoliers. Quote Link to comment

What difference does it make? What are the chances someone here would live in the OPs area and then go hunting for the cache after they saw him reveal it in this topic? Quote Link to comment

Thank you very much ambient skater! You all live in another country! You really don't think that a lot of Brits come to the forums? Hoo-Boy! But it is pretty much beside the point, you come here to inquire about enforcing a guideline, then you turn-about and do exactly (in a world-wide forum) what you just deleted a log for. What's the difference, posting it here or posting it on the cache page? Zero. Quote Link to comment
Pup Patrol
Not that I think it's a big deal, but some folks who DO live in the OP's area and may be searching for those caches could be reading this forum and read the description. Then wonder why posting a photo of the cache with their log is a no-no, worthy of having the "found it" log deleted. Nonetheless, this is a great opportunity to gently educate new cachers. A polite note explaining "spoilers" might be a welcome bit of info to the new folks. We've found a couple of caches like that. They're fun to find. Quote Link to comment
