+Markwell
The results for the website field on the pocket query now uses the GC number... Example: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?wp=GC33A7 The numeric still links to the same place http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?ID=13223 Why the change in the results of the pocket queries? Why not just leave them as the numeric websites? Markwell Chicago Geocaching Link to comment

I didn't know you could query via GC number inthe URL. I've been wasting typing and processing time going tot he "Find/Hide" page and searching for a Waypoint. Now I can just edit my URL w/ the GC I've got in my list or on my mapping application. Cool! (I was late to the party-if this has been active for a year or so, just smile and igore me) UPDATE: I just created a script that contains the URL then adds the GC variable so I can click my waypoints on my map and pull the cache page up in explorer. Oh, this is great! Wuhoo! Link to comment
robertlipe
It looks like this is an artifact of a feature under development as it's not consistently supported throughout the various pages. If you look at nearest_cache.asp, for example, you'll see that the linky links use the traditional ID= tags while the URL tags returned by the download form on that same page use the wp= markup. Just roaming around, cache_details.aspx is the only one I can find that supports wp=. I poked at cache_logfind.aspx and redir.aspx and they don't seem to support it. Link to comment
+Marky
Man, now if I could only get this form: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?pf=y&wp=GC33A7 to work on my phone's browser. It works fine in a normal browser but I get an empty page error from my phone. If this worked, I could save my step of generating my own html pages with gpx2html so that I can open pages by waypoint on my phone. --Marky "All of us get lost in the darkness, dreamers learn to steer with a backlit GPSr" Link to comment
