Can I just buy the numbers without the tags? You can buy just the numbers, but I believe you must buy them in bulk (50+ at a crack). You would need to contact Groundspeak in order to facilitate the purchase. BTW: The second tag is not "useless". It comes in real handy when the need occurs that you have to re-release a travel bug. As it is, you purchased the number -- the tag is what the number is provided to you on. Nobody says you have to use the tag, but it does make a TB recognizable as such to other cachers. +Eartha Posted August 5, 2010 Share Posted August 5, 2010 (edited) If you buy tracking numbers, each item, if they are all different, has to go through design approval. That thread explains the tracking number purchase process, and it is meant for geocoins. Travel bugs use tags, and are readily identifiable in a cache.
