Oregon 450 found logs

I bought an Oregon 450 and after I find a chache I will log it as found on the unit.

After I get home I sometimes forget which caches I found that day so I want to know how to transfer the "found" logs from the Oregon 450 to wither GSAK or directly to Geocaching.com.

 

Also I would like to know if there is a way to sort the found logs on the Oregon to display them in the order they were found (most recently first). Right now the caches show up in the found log by thier location to where I am.

The field notes file Fegan is referring to uploading in his post is geocache_visits.txt.

 

Unfortunately (AFAIK), there is no way to sort the found caches on an Oregon by their find date and time. To me, it serves no purpose to sort by your current location, but that's what you get!

To Import to GSAK go to the macro page on the boards and get the import macro.

 

In GSAK click on the "Found by Me" column to sort by that date.

 

Keep in mind the well documented Zulu time error which can result in the wrong date.

To upload Field Notes from your Garmin Colorado or Garmin Oregon:

 

1. Plug your Garmin device into your computer with a USB cable.

2. Click "Browse" on this web page and go to the Garmin directory on your device’s drive.

3. Select the file named "geocache_visits.txt" and click "Upload" on this page to upload your Field Notes.

4. We recommend that you delete the "geocache_visits.txt" file on your device once your Field Notes have been successfully uploaded.

 

Once the Field Notes are uploaded you can return to the Field Notes list page to start logging your finds.
