Ok

I need to find the thread that teach about everaging waypoint. I did the search and the only thing I found

but doesn't give me details is the help from Groundspeak.

I've seen a thread here somewhere by a Member that show the Math to calculate waypoint...

Can someone please help me ?

Thanks

I don't have links to the threads, but here is some more general advice: the "search" feature on this forum is nearly useless. Lucky for us, Google has it covered.

On google.com, search for your keywords and add site:forums.Groundspeak.com in order to search the forum posts using the full power of Google. In your case, you would type this into the google box:

site:forums.Groundspeak.com averaging waypoints

That returns over 14,000 hits, but the first few appear to be the most useful.

Keep in mind that averaging doesn't always work to improve things. Consider the following:

Poor sat geometry and weak signals = you are averaging bad data

Excellent sat geometry and strong signals = no need to average - single reading will suffice

ok geoetry and medium signals = averaging might improve things a bit

If you have a newer high sensitivity receiver - chances are very good that there is no need to get an average. Just let the unit settle for a few minutes and get a reading.

Sometimes it's best to visually average them yourself. Go to the screen which shows the sats and wait until you see strong signals from 4 or more satellites, and watch the coords before you mark the location. If the satellites are spread out the accuracy will be better than if they are on top of another.

Thanks guys

I will go out again to the same spot to see IF I can get better Coords.

I looked on google for ONE of the marked Coords from yesterday and

looks very close to the hiding spot. I guess If you have been caching

and you understande the " hint " that I will give , you are going to

be infront of the only one "object" that is possible to hide something.

I guess I will try "my way" if doesn't work , well ....I correct later.

Thanks,
