Fungus Among Us

Saw this -- my guess is that it probably isn't worth a full blown freak out, but a good reminder that Mother Nature can be a b***h. Around here, you hear occasionally about folks (mostly hunters) and dogs getting ill from blasto.

Not worried. There are too many things natural and manmade that can kill ya to worry about.

This is about as scary as naegleria fowleria in hot springs. Neither are a worry to me.

 

I have three items I avoid when i'm outdoors, Rattlesnakes, Poison Oak, and Dehydration /Hyperthermia here in the desert.

Totally get that this is way down on the list of "Things To Worry About". I still think the folks out NW have a fungus problem.

this fungus has been around for years, except that now it seems to have mutated and affects otherwise healthy individuals and pets

 

far less dangerous than the flu

 

but i guess with the hype over the swine flu dying down, something else had to be dug out

Not worried one bit. Taking the entire family including an infant to Seaside for a week in a month. The stress of worrying about things like this is more likely to affect your health then the very remote possibility that you would get sick.
