ipaq RX5935 Memory-map Cachemate

Recommended Posts

I have a HP Ipaq 5935

On it is loaded

Memory-map

Cachemate

And of course the unit has preloaded Tomtom and GPS

I download from Geocache.com a pocket query to GSAK

transfer that to Cachmate on the Ipaq

Each component is working PERFECT

The cords from cachemate are not displayed on the Memory-map, just a list of caches

Memory-map does not show where I am, just a great big map

How do I get it all to work together.

CacheMate doesn't feed information into MemoryMap, you have to create the cache list in GSAK for MemoryMap using "File/Export/MemoryMap". You then import that list into the PC MemoryMap and "MobileDevice/Export Data to Device".

You will have to configure the MemoryMap export to work with CacheMate. In "Link", enter "cmate://%code" (without the quotes). You may also wish to enter "%code" into "Name on GPS", and "%Name (%Dif/%Ter)" into "Waypoint comment", again without quotes.

As far as MemoryMap telling you where you are is concerned, you need to configure it for the serial port your PDA uses.

I've written a guide on exporting a GSAK database to a PDA to use with Memory Map and Cachemate. Also uses Lordelphs excellent icons to display caches as icons with details such as whether they are active or not or have trackables in them. Have a look at my resource website (link under my name) and go to the Paperless page.
