+Xantos10
My daughter and I really enjoy doing night caches. There are a few in our area but it seems there are not a lot of people who do Night caches. Some of our favorites are "The Wicked Woods", "Spider Eyes" and "The Bloated Festering Head". What are some of your favorites and maybe we could check some of them out. Quote Link to comment
+Criminal
I got a chuckle from your thread title. Here’s a short history lesson: The term, glint, comes from a military product called ‘glint tape’ and is used to identify friendly forces when targeting through night vision equipment. There were/are only a few geocaches that used actual glint tape, my old archived ones and some by other cachers to whom I sent some. I’ve long lost track of those. The glint tape was much better than standard reflectors because it appears dull gray in daylight and would disappear on a tree, but would reflect bright white at night when hit with a flashlight beam. Cache, Tactical Night -Mission One Cache, Tactical Night -Mission Two Cache, Tactical Night -Mission Three Cache, Tactical Night -Mission Four Cache, Tactical Night -Mission Three – Alpha These were a lot of fun to create, especially #4 because it had a delightful false trail with a snarky note at the end if you tried to shortcut the directions, and several finders fell for it. Big difference in our opinion. Quote Link to comment
+bittsen
All caches are night caches (unless unavailable at night). Most of my cache finds have been at night. Quote Link to comment
+Xantos10
I enjoy the caches that were designed for Night most. However, we still do other caches at night if the description says 24/7. Sometimes if it is around houses, we will wait until the daytime so we are not confused with Burglers. Quote Link to comment
+Sol seaker
I haven't been able to get out to many night caches but would love to sometime. Lost my caching partner. I dont want to do night caches alone. http://www.geocaching.com/bookmarks/view.a...1a-49a8513272bf that is a great bookmark list for night caches. You may have to cut and paste it into your browser. there are a few lists out, and this one is the biggest and i think the best. Of course I keep sending her new caches to put on it, so I would think it's the best. Let me know if you guys are planning any. I'd love to go. Email me rather than replying on this list. I don't know when I'll check this topic again. Thanks! Quote Link to comment

+Dgwphotos
I have one that is not one of the usual glint method: Glow in the Dark. It is more difficult than the glint type, though. Let me know if you need help with it. There is also a traditional glint type about 1/2 mile to the south as well: Insomniac. Quote Link to comment

+Xantos10
There seems to be several Night Caces in the Renton area. I live near Olympia, but I need to make a trip north and check out the caches. Probably could do a few of them in one night. Quote Link to comment

Renton Nighttime Isn't Just For Sleeping Nighttime Still Isn't Just For Sleeping Nighttime is for Caching. No Sleeping Allowed. I tried No Sleeping Allowed the other night. I went up and down the trail twice only able to find the orange turn around markers. Finally on the way out the second time I found a set of markers, on the other side of the trail. Now that I know what the markers look like I should have an easier time. I would still welcome help from the mighty Jester any time you are free. I live only a couple of miles south. +The Jester
It's a cold one out there tonight! BearBean and I just did my Nighttime is for Caching. No Sleeping Allowed. cache. I replaced a couple of glints so everything is in fine shape. It was fun to meet a new cacher and be able to check my cache at the same time. Quote Link to comment
