+gfk.jr
I am looking to purchase a good TOPO map for my new Oregon 200. Right now I am looking at the Garmin 24K TOPO Mountain South (Arizona, New Mexico) and the National Geographic state maps (Arizona). Has anyone had any experience with either or suggestions, considerations, advice? Edited August 26, 2009 by gfk.jr Quote Link to comment
snowfleurys
National Geographic products will not work on a Garmin GPSr. You need a product made by Garmin or by a third party specifically for a Garmin GPSr. See the gpsfiledepot for some free mapsets. Quote Link to comment

Good to know about the NG maps. Do you know why they list Garmin products as supported units? Quote Link to comment

Yes, because you can connect your GPS up to the software and transfer waypoints and the like, just not the maps to the GPS. Quote Link to comment

+Redwoods Mtn Biker
The NG TOPO maps are great for printing a hard copy map (showing your waypoints) to take into the field. Quote Link to comment
