drdick&vick
When you 'log a field note' how is your Oregon connected to the internet? It might be taht the Oregon is logging your find against it's onboard database of caches and then requires you to actaully log the finds yourself with GC Quote Link to comment
bugeyesuk
thanks for the quick response! my oregon is connected via the USB cable and using my pc! lol seems to be connected fine as geocaching.com says they have uploaded! i'm not yet a premium member would this block my field notes/ caches found ???? Bugs (confused of kettering lol) edit! when my oregon connects to the pc it goes into usb drive mode so i can do nothing else with the gps! ps of to hit the sack! will catch up with my post tomorrow! thanks folkes Edited August 16, 2009 by bugeyesuk Quote Link to comment
drdick&vick
Having never used a Oregon for caching I cannot comment on that. If GC.com says that they have been uploaded then I am totally baffled. I am sure that another Oregon/Colorado owner will be along soon to explain. Quote Link to comment

Windsocker
I think you need to return to the field notes and then click compose note as in the photo below. Then goto this page Hit submit and that should be it repeat for the rest of the caches. Hope that helps as my brain has now melted. Quote Link to comment

Original A1
OK, this is speaking as someone with a Garmin Oregon 400t, so not your model, and I haven't read all the notes above because I'm a Bear of Limited Brain who easily gets confused with GPS Workings. However, what strikes me is that like my machine, yours has a different function (i.e., the field log) from your actual web log. In my case, the field log comes in Notebook and following my input at Ground Zero, logs little notes about what I saw/experienced when finding a cache. It notes the cache code, date, time and whatever comments I put. In order to log your find on Geocaching.com, you need to open the Notebook linked from your GPS, then find the relevant cache page via one of two methods: 1) http://www.geocaching.com/ On the second white box down (currently occupied by the code GCXXXX), and cut and paste the relevant cache code you've found which will bring up the right cache page. OR 2) By the first white box which will have your co-ords in it, press "Go" and THEN press "with Google maps" so you have a visual impression of where you're talking about. Find the relevant cache icon and open that way. Once you've got to the relevant cache page, look to the top right and press "Log your visit" and type in the appropriate info. It's possible to edit a log once you've submitted it if you think something's been missed out or you make a mistake, so don't worry about it - you'll soon get used to it. Hope that's what you were seeking and I'm not barking up the wrong tree, but good luck! Quote Link to comment
