+rvstauff
Hi! Can anyone tell me how the URL for a cache is generated? For example, I have a cache, "Mint Hill ROCKS!", with a cache code of GC1T6GE. The web address for this is http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...a0-b8682cf49aec How is each cache's address connected to the cache name? Can I predict the web address if I just know the GC code for a cache? The reason I want to know is I am working on a Visual Basic program and I want to "web link" to caches based only on their GC code. Thanks for any help! Link to comment

Just a quick note to remind you to not try and automatically "scrape" any info off the pages for use in your program. That would violate the site's Terms of Use (TOU) agreement. Otherwise dakboy has the shortest best approach to linking. Link to comment
Motorcycle_Mama
Thanks, StarBrand. And in case anyone has trouble finding the TOU, here's a link. http://www.geocaching.com/about/termsofuse.aspx Link to comment
