+SkellyCA
Are you out doors? GPSr's don't get signals indoors. Leave it on for a few minutes. It takes a couple minutes to figure out where you are. I have a Troton 400. I think it's a good unit and it does paperless caching Quote Link to comment

+SkellyCA
Oh, the GPS 300, not the Triton 300, I always forget about that one. It is old. It can work for caching, but not very well. If he/she can afford it, he/she should upgrade Quote Link to comment

+Stroudwaterboy
It's likely you will need to initialize it, I have to if I move too far since I last used it. When you do this it normaly takes about 10 minutes for it to sort its self out. It works fine for geocaching but you can't get too near trees or high buildings! Quote Link to comment

I used my topo to determine elevation. we left it on for 1/2 hour. for some reason no matter how we set it the west was 2 off. for instance my west is 75.000.00 and the 300 showed 77.000.00 Quote Link to comment
