I assume the extra cost and logistics for providing this world wide. I imagine there would be some uproar if america got text included but other countries didn't

Well, there is this: "Instanotify" Notification Service.

I have email on my phone so it's Kind of the samething....

All notifications can be sent to cell phones if they support text msgs. I have Verizon so my notifications are sent to "<phonenumber>@vzwpix.com". Other carriers have a similar format. I don't have the listing available right now but if you do a search of the forums, you'll find that listing.

 

I would be nice if Groundspeak could add a link to the notification page with help guidance on this topic.

Same here. I've gotten at least 2 FTFs with it.

You can get 'instant notifications' that a cache was published, but the co-ordinates are not part of that information.

You still must have some way to go to the website and look at the cache page to see where it is.
