+StarBrand
Yes - I have also used Garmin's mapsource, trip and waypoint manager and Microsoft's Streets and Trips. Just find a way to save or convert the route to a GPX or KML file. GPSBabel. Quote Link to comment

+J-Way
Or use a public route that someone else created and uploaded here. There are a bazillion or so already made. The start and end points may be slightly off, but usually close enough. Personally, I tried this method but I decided I like to pan the route in Google Earth. Several of my favorite all-time cache finds were several miles off of a planned route and would have been missed had I relied exclusively on the cache-along-a-route method. But I prefer interesting caches with substance rather than mass numbers of finds. Quote Link to comment
+m_s_ifland
I have a Garmin Nuvi 250w, I put my route in my Garmin. Then plug it into my computer. Goto "My Computer" open up the drive that the Garmin is listed as, go to the "Garmin" folder, then the "GPX" folder. In there, there will be a file called "Route_GPX". Drag the file to your "Desktop". It is already a .GPX file. Just go to www.geocaching.com and upload it and creat a pocket query after you save it. Works perfectly for me. Hope this helps.
