RedLeg0811
I was looking at Expert GPS and saw that they had GPX files. Can't you take the USGS maps and Sat photos and up load them into say an Oregon? Is there better software then Expert GPS? Thanks Martin Quote Link to comment
MtnHermit
Short answer NO!!! Unless you are really determined. Search Mapwel on this site or Google. If you really want paper Topos and sat photos on a GPS, get a Delorme PN-2/40. Quote Link to comment

RedLeg0811
I like what the PN-40 does, but I am not so wild about the screen size. It is not bad, it just isn't great. I was just reading about the new Lorance which sound pretty good. It also sounded like you could load PDX files. You know how it is I want to have my cake and eat it too. There are some nice GPS devices out there and it is just hard to decide which one. So what would you do with Expert GPS becides put routes on them and print it? Nothing wrong with that as I usually have a hard copy map and my compass as backup. Quote Link to comment

Has anyone used this for an Oregon? If it does work on the Oregon I will have decided which GPS I am getting. Quote Link to comment

They have some screenshots from an Oregon with a NOAA chart on one page, so I would guess so. I'd contact the author and see what he recommends. Quote Link to comment
+Redwoods Mtn Biker
MOAGU performance and image quality is nothing like what you'll get with a PN-40,. I'd decide which is more important to you...screen size or the ability to view raster imagery. Or you can wait until Garmin gives us access to the latter. Quote Link to comment
