What is a "Lammy" or "Lammie"?

Sorry if this is an easy answer, but I see "a lammy for FTF" or something similar on many cache pages, and I don't know what that means. I searched the glossary and these help forums, but maybe I am spelling it wrong.

TIA!

No, I've no idea either, and I've been around these forums for a while. It sounds like it might be something local to your area.

Somebody will know...

Just hang around for a while...

Welcome to the forum, btw

I think it's a regional thing. I've done a little bit of caching in the Rochester area and have seen those logs as well but no where else. I'm guessing that it's some sort of laminated item that the FTF can take but that's just a guess. I've also seen logs which mentioned that a "homie" was left and I have no idea what that is either.

Although geocaching is an international game it's also made up of lots of regional communities which may have different regional protocols, and develop local slang. Read some of the logs in areas in other parts of the country (or world) and you'll often find references that only the geocaching community in that local area might understand.

I've run across a laminated card with some geocoin info on it, but no coin in sight. It was logged in the cache as a coin. It's my best guess that it was a way for the actual coin to remain un-lost and for people to get the icon. smells fishy to me.
