+redleg7
hello, Does anyone know if there is a way to "reset" an explorist, like some magic key combination? Mine powers on, then gets stuck at the blue screen that says "explorist XL". I can't even turn it off, I have to pull out a battery to get it to go off. Anyone else have this problem? Know a solution? Thanks, Joe Quote Link to comment

+jabss
Hi. I use an XL and the usual key combination is to hold 'goto' + 'out' + 'power' all at once which clears the memory and resets to defaults. Good luck. Quote Link to comment
+castlequick
Hello, I have had this problem several times when I bumped it against something. My way to fix it is to take out the batteries to turn it off, then pull out the sd card and then place it back it. Reload the batteries and it has always worked for me. I think the sd card gets bumped a little and just doing this, knock on wood, has worked. Jeff aka castlequick Quote Link to comment

Guess I have a brick now. Ah yes me too!!! High 5 but it's a brick that lights up blue and cost a few hundred bucks! tried the reset too, didn't work. Thanks for the tips though, I'm desperate to try anything to get it working. Can't afford another GPS and I'm trying to stay in geocaching Quote Link to comment
